词根是 rhe,最早源自拉丁语的 rhes（修辞）.英语在 rhe 后加后缀 –or 表示 “修辞学者/修饰学教师”；又在 rhetor 基础上再加后缀 –ic 变成 rhetoric,表示 “修辞学” 或 “花言巧语”.
