over指在某物垂直上方,无接触点,也可指覆盖在某物上
above指在某物的上方即可,不一定是垂直上方
We live over a small bookstore.
我们住在一家小书店的楼上
My grandchildren will stay over Christmas.
我的孙儿孙女们圣诞节期间将呆在这儿.
They are children above six years old.
他们是六岁以上的孩子.
The moon is now above the trees.
月亮正位于树梢上.
above平面上的上
over是立体的上，还有经过的意思
the sentences above 不能是the sentences over
cover over the tree 不能是cover above the tree
fly over表飞过
over指正上方，比如船开在桥下面，桥就是over the boat 然后above指上面，比如报纸上文章上面是标题aboove the article 就是上面，不规定在哪个方向的上面，顺便on指紧贴在上面的
over是指在某物的正上方
eg:over the rainbowl彩虹之上;
over the bridge大桥上方；
above是指在**的上方，不强调正上方，也可以表示距离
eg:3ometers above the ground距离地面30米
over在……得正上方。
above在……得上方（不强调正上方）。
如the book is above the desk.（不强调正上方）
the window is over the room.（强调正上方）
above着重指 在....上方，不一定含有垂直在上的意思：
The sun rose above the horizon. 太阳升到了地平线之上．
over可以和above替换，但含有垂直向上的意思：
A lamp hung over the table .桌子上面吊着一盏灯
